I enjoy discussing science and theology in person and at websites. In August of 2009 I was posting at the blog site of a local Christian radio station talk show host regarding evolution vs. creationism. The manager of that site decided to stop allowing anonymous posts, so in order to continue my dialogue with the host of the radio talk show, I had to set up with Google for my own blog.
So here I am, due to a technicality. But who knows, maybe this blog will evolve into something more than what I originally intended it for. Time will tell.

Sounds a LOT like Andrew Tallman's blog, but that would place you here in the Phoenix area ... close to me. Good luck with the blogging. I know it's been beneficial for me.
ReplyDeleteI am indeed in Maricopa County. I exchanged a few emails with Andrew Tallman last year. He was kind enough to take the time to correspond in that way, and also to comment on some of my thoughts that I posted at his KPXQ blog as well. I am sure he is a busy guy, so I was pleased to get a response. He clearly has a gigantic verbal IQ.
ReplyDeleteI am not expecting Andrew to ever provide a link to my blog like he does to yours, though. My view is in harmony with that of a blogger by the name of Doug Shaver, who succinctly puts it this way:
I believe in no revealed truths, because I believe there is no transcendent entity to do any revealing.
Doug can be found at:

(I have never met him.)

ReplyDeleteSince you "believe there is no transcendent entity to do any revealing", I would assume that by "discussing science and theology" you mean "refuting a belief in God".
I estimate I spend 250-500 hours a year listening to Christian broadcasting--most radio, sometimes television. That has been my pace for about the last 20 years. So I am certainly giving myself lots of opportunity to be "won for Christ." But I have to say that nobody has come very close to convincing me of the truth of their belief system.
ReplyDeleteA former coworker who is LDS (Mormon) gave it his best shot via email over a period of months. I read about what he had to say, and also explained to him why I think his beliefs are in error. He has not responded to my last three emails, so I think he has given up on me.
